Many forest communities and tribes suffered due to the Acts passed by the colonial rulers. So they rebelled a number of times, against the restrictions imposed on them, and to get their rights back.  Some of the areas of tribal conflict were -

1. Chotanagpur area where the tribals were led by Birsa Munda.

2. Andhra Pradesh where their leader was Alluri Sitaram Raju.

3. Bastar in the southern part of Chhatisgarh.

4. North Eastern parts of India.
