Question:
Areas of two similar triangles are 81 and 144 Cm² Respectively. If the base of smaller one is 3cms. Find the corresponding base of the other?
Method of Solution:
We know that Area of Square of Triangle is Equal to the Corresponding Square of their base.
Let the Smaller Triangle be ∆ABC and their Base Is AB.
Let the Larger Triangle be ∆DEF and their Base is DE.
Now, According to the Question's Statement!
∆ABC/∆DEF = AB²/DE²
Substitute the Given Value in Equation Formula!
∆ABC/∆DEF = AB²/DE²
=> 81/144 = (3)²/DE²
=> √81/√144 = 3/DE
=> 9/12 = 3/DE
=> 9DE = 12×3
=> 9DE = 36
•°• DE = 4 Cm.
Hence, Corresponding base of the other ∆ is 4 cm.

∆ABC/∆DEF = AB²/DE²
∆ABC/∆DEF = AB²/DE²
=81/144 = (3)²/DE²
=√81/√144 = 3/DE
=9/12 = 3/DE
=9DE = 12×3
=9DE = 36
DE = 4 Cm.
Therefore, Corresponding base of the other Triangle is 4 cm.
