Above 400 cm=nagaland,manipur,agartala,mizoram.

Below 200cm=rajasthan, up,mp,maharashtra etc.

Andaman islands, Malabar coast and Mawsynram-Cherrapunji regions in Northeast receives more than 400 cm rainfall in India.

Tamilnadu region, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh receives less than 200 cm rainfall.

Explanation:

  • South west monsoon onsets on the Kerala in west coast and Northeast in eastern side of the country.
  • Before one week, there is an onset of monsoon in Andaman Isalnds, so rainfall will be heavy in these regions during south west monsoon.
  • Tamil Nadu and Andhrapradesh coast receives the rainfall during retreating monsoon or North east monsoon, majority of rainfall comes from cyclonic rainfall.
  • Chottanagpur plateau and gangetic plain gets the rainfall of around 100 to 150 cm rainfall.
