Areas in India having high rainfall are prone to floods because when it happens to be a high rain fall, the soil fails to soak up the water resulting the excess water to increase because it isn't absorbed and run into water bodies and when there is too much water the water runs into land causing flood.

Areas having low rainfall suffer from drought as because of the lack of water. The ground becomes dry and cracks because of extreme dryness and plants which needs to be watered dries out causing drought.
