by given condition....
x = 12+y..............(1)

and , by given second condition......
(x+4) = 3(y+4)
x+4 = 3y+12
therefore , x - 3y = 8..........(2)
Substitute eq 1 in 2
12+y-3y=8
-2y=-4
therefore , y=2.........(3)
substitute 3 in 1
x = 12+ y
= 12 + 2
x = 14

Therefore , present age of Areen is 14 years and his sister is 2 years .
