yess I do think that they are important in the family and also in modern society because they are the only one who teach ethics (sanskar) to the young one's. Middle age people learns rituals and traditions from them. our society is incomplete without them. They are the ones who regulate decipline in the family and teach everyone to live with love. They also help their children with the upbringing of their young one's. So, I think that our family and our modern society will be incomplete without them.
