Answer :

  • The Acceleration of the ball is 6 m/s².

Explanation :

Given :

  • Final velocity of the ball, v = 18 m/s
  • Time taken by the ball, t = 3 s
  • Initial velocity of the ball, u = 0 m/s

[Note : Here, the initial velocity is taken as 0 as the ball is starting from rest]

To find :

  • Acceleration of the ball, a = ?

Knowledge required :

First equation of motion :

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀v = u + at

Where,

  • v = Final Velocity
  • u = Initial velocity
  • a = Acceleration
  • t = Time Taken

Solution :

By using the first Equation of the motion and substituting the values in it, we get :

⠀⠀=> v = u + at

⠀⠀=> v = 0 + at [u = 0 m/s]

⠀⠀=> v = at

⠀⠀=> 18 = a × 3

⠀⠀=> 18/3 = a

⠀⠀=> 6 = a

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀∴ a = 6 m/s²

Therefore,

  • Acceleration of the ball, a = 6 m/s²

Hii !

question:-

  • Ariel dropped a golf ball from her second story window. The ball starts from rest and hits the sidewalk 3 s later with a velocity of 18m/s. Find the average acceleration of the golf ball.

Given :-

  • v = 18m/s.
  • t = 3 sec.
  • u = 0m/sec.

To find :-

acceleration of the ball

Solution:-

use the formula ;

\huge \fbox \blue{v=u+at}

⇒18=0+a(3)

⇒18=0+3a

⇒18=3a

⇒a = 6 m/s²

Therefore, the value of acceleration is 6m/.
