Answer:

(a) His age after 6 yrs is y+6 (b) His age 3 yrs. ago is y - 3 (c) His mother's age is 5 + 2y (d) His grandmother's age is 4y (e) His father's age is 7 + 2y

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Arif's present age=y years

(a) To calculate his age after 6 yrs.we add 6 yrs. to his present age.

After 6 yrs his age = (y + 6) yrs.

(b) to calculate his age before 3 yrs. we subtract 3 yrs from his present age .

His age after 3 yrs ago = (y - 3 ) yrs.

(c) Twice of his age = 2 × his present age

                                = 2y

HIs mother's age=5 years elder than twice of his age means we add 5 to 2y

                           = 5 + 2y

(d) Grandmother's age = 4 × his present age

                                     = (4 y) yrs.

(e) Father's age = 2 + (5+ 2y)     (2 years elder than his mother's age  means we have to add 2 yrs to his mother's age )

                         = 7 +2y
