Solution :-

Let the length of Arijit's coat be x cm

Then, according to the question.

⇒ x/1 + (x*15)/100 = 120

⇒ x/1 + 15x/100 = 120

⇒ x/1 + 3x/20 = 120

Taking LCM of the denominators and then solving it.

⇒ (20x + 3x)/20 = 120

⇒ 23x/20 = 120

⇒ 23x = 120*20

⇒ 23x = 2400

⇒ x = 2400/23

⇒ x = 104.34 cm

So, actual length of Arijit's coat is 104.34  cm.

The coat is 15% longer than his height.
Father's coat length is 15%
15 % of 120
= 15 / 100 × 120
= 18

Thus, this shows that his coat should be 18cm lesser than his father's coat
120 - 18 = 102 cm

Therefore Arjit's coat should be 102 cm long according to his actual height.

Thus, the percentage difference provided in the data about the length difference of his and his father coat made it easier to solve the question.
