Let the two numbers be x and y.
Arithmetic mean =(x+y)/2=6
x^2 + y^2 = 90
As, x+y=12 =>y=12-x
then,x^2+(12-x)^2=90
x^2 + x^2 + 144 - 24x = 90
2x^2 - 24x = - 54
x^2 - 12x = - 27
x^2 - 12x + 27 = 0
(x-9)(x-3)=0
=>x=9 or x=3
These are the two numbers =>9,3
