Arithmetic mean of 98 values is 50. Two values 60 and 70 were left out at the time of calculations. Find the mean of 100 values

putting in the above formula , we get

Mean of 98 values = \frac{\textrm{ sum of 98 values}}{\textrm{98}}

or, 50 = \frac{\textrm {sum of 98 observations}}{98}

or, sum of 98 ob. = 98 x 50 = 4900

Now, two left out values are 60 and 70.

So, sum of 100 observations = sum of 98 observation + 60 + 70

= 4900 + 60 + 70 = 5030

So, mean of 100 observation = \frac{5030}{100}

= 50.30
