Arjan is an employee who is never on time for work or meetings. He has been issued several warning memos but in vain. The management is not able to take stringent action against him as he is very good at his work and is one of the top performers. As his reporting authority you still feel that he should respect time and be disciplined. From the different elements of reinforcement which one should his manager choose to get the desired behaviour? Conclude by giving why it (the one which you chose) is the best suited.

Positive reinforcement is used to get the desired behaviour from Arjan.

Explanation:

The manager should give Positive reinforcement. The manager should tell the Arjan that he will be given Award for best high-performing employees if he attends the meeting on time. This will encourage him to work harder and also attend the meeting on time. Sometimes, people neglect lending ears to the negative things about them. So, if we want to change the attitude of those we need to say the positive side of things instead of its negative impacts. This will change their mindset regarding a particular thing.
