Answer:

Let us imagine that Shriya present age be x.

As per statement, Arjun is twice as old as Shriya, means Arjun present age is 2x.

Five years ago their ages were Shriya, x- 5 and Arjun 2x-5, his age was three times the Shriya age.

2x - 5=3 (x-5)

2x - 5 =3x - 15

2x - 3x= -15 + 5

-x =-10

x = 10 years

Shriya present age 10 years

Arjun is twice as old as Shriya, therefore Arjun present age is 2x= 2×10= 20 years..

let the age of Shriya be = x

=> Age Arjun = 2x

=> ratio = 2x : 3x

 =  \frac{2x}{x}  \\  \\

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \underline{5 \: years \: ago}

shriya age = x - 5

 \therefore \: arjun \: age \:  = 2x - 5

ratio = x - 5 : 2x - 4

 \implies \:   \frac{x - 5}{2x - 5} =  \frac{2x}{5}   \\  \\  \implies \:  2x  \times x =  5 \\  \\ \implies \: 3x = 5 \\  \\  = x =  \frac{5}{3}   \: or \: 1.66 = shriya \: age \\  \\ arjun \:  = 2 \times  \frac{5}{3}  =  \frac{10}{3}  \: or \: 3.33

Ratio = 1.66 : 3.33
