2009 to 2018 is 9 years so if 1st jan 2009 was thursday then add 9 days to 1st jan which is thursday.Count like this ,if it was thursdfay then 9 days adding up will be like after thursday  in 2010 it is friday,2011 saturday,2012 sunday ,2013 monday,2014 tuesday.2015 wednesday,2016 thursday 2017 friday and at last 2018 saturday. By this you will see that the day on 1st jan 2018 is saturday.
