Answer : Previous salary was ₹ 70,000

Explanation -

Given :

Present salary = 77000

It is increased by 10%

Finding Previous salary -

let his previous salary is 100

New salary increased by 10%

So, 100 + 10 = 110.

Therefore New salary is 110, when previous salary was 100

In the same way,

New salary is ₹ 77000, when previous salary was (100/110) x 77000

7700000/110

70,000

Hence :

Previous salary was ₹ 70,000


Verified :-

70,000 x 10/100 = 7000

70,000 + 7000 = 77000.
