The human body has evolved to be functional. For example, eyes are placed where they are to ensure a maximum field of stereoscopic vision, giving us field and depth perception. This contributes to the surivival of the species, by enabling us to see threat and estimate its proximity. We have two legs so we can run away, and two arms so we can use tools.

It’s all down to functionality and fitness for survival.
