3/4means 45 minutes of 1hour +half hour means 30 minutes of 1hour so. 45+30=1:15 minutes

Answer:

The total time Arnav spend is 4 \frac{1}{4} hours

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Arnav spends 1 \frac{3}{4} hours in studies

Simplying it,

 \frac{3}{4} hours \: = \frac{3}{4} \times 60mins

 = 3 \times 15 \: mins

 = 45 \: minutes

Therefore

1 \frac{3}{4} hours \: = 1hour \: 45 \: minutes

So Arnav spends 1 hour 45 minutes on studies, we can also say he spends 60 + 45 = 105 minutes on studies ( 1 hour = 60 minutes)

2) Then he spends 2 \frac{1}{2} hours in playing cricket.

Simplying it,

 \frac{1}{2} hours \: = \frac{1}{2} \times 60mins

 = 30 \: mins

Therefore

2 \frac{1}{2} hours \: = 2hours \: 30minutes

So Arnav spends 2 hours 30 minutes in playing cricket.

We can also say he spends 60+60+30= 150 minutes in playing cricket.

3) Total time he spend in all =

1 hour 45 mins + 2 hours 30 mins

= 3 hours (45+30) minutes ..Eq(1)

Now 45 + 30 = 75 minutes

= 60 + 15 minutes

= 1 hour 15 minutes

Putting the value in eq(1),

= 3 hours + 1 hour 15 minutes

= 4 hours 15 minutes

or

15minutes \: = 15 \times \frac{1}{60} hours

 =  \frac{1}{4}

Therefore

4hours \: 15mins \: = 4 \frac{1}{4} hours

Therefore the total time Arnav spends in all is 4 \frac{1}{4} hours
