it can be stated as the alkylation of the aromatic rings by the Friedel-Craft reaction method. The -COOH gr (carboxylic group) attached to the benzene ring is electron withdrawing and ring deactivating.Thatswhy, Benzoic acid does not undergo Friedel-Craft Alkylation Reaction.
