Let the side of the square be x

Area of square = x2

Area of footpath = (x+4)2

now,

(x+4)2 -x2 = 5/4x2

solving it we get the equation....

5x2 - 32x - 64 = 0

solving this equation....

x = 8

therefore

Area of pool = (8+4)the whole square

= (12)the whole square

= 144m2

hope it helps you
