= -24 - (-32)

= -24 + 32

= 8

(b) (-65) - (-32)

= (-65) - (-32)

= -65 + 32

= -33

(c) -17 - 18 - (-35)

= -17 - 18 - (-35)

= -35 + 35

= 0

(d) -27 - (-28) + (-380)

= -27 - (-28) + (-380)

= -27 + 28 - 380

= 1 - 380

= -379

Given,

(Assumed it happen day by day)

Deapth of divers from boat= 20 feet (eq. 1)

Next day, it rose= 12 feet (eq. 2)

Next day, it again descends= 18 feet (eq. 3)

On solving,

According to eq. 1 and eq. 2

Deapth of divers from boat= (20 - 12) feet

= 8 feet

According to eq. 2 and eq. 3

Deapth of divers from boat= (8 + 18) feet

= 26 feet

Current, deapth of divers is 26 feet.

(-22) × -9 = 88 + 110

198 = 198

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, L.H.S = R.H.S verified.

b. (-12) × [(3) + (-9)] = [(-12) × (4)] + [(-12) × (-9)]

(-12) × [(3) + (-9)] = [(-12) × (4)] + [(-12) × (-9)]

(-12) × [3 - 9] = [-48] + [-12 × -9]

(-12) × -6 = -48 + 108

72 = 60

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, L.H.S = R.H.S verified.
