let number of Re 1 coin be x

=> number of Rs2 coin = 21-x

ATQ

x +2(21-x) = 34

=> x +42-2x = 34

=> x = 8

21-x = 21-8 = 13

\orange{\bold{\underline{\underline{Given}}}}

  • Total number of coins = 21

  • Total money = 34

\orange{\bold{\underline{\underline{To \ Find}}}}

  • Number of 1 rupee coin

  • Number of 2 rupee coin

\orange{\bold{\underline{\underline{Solution}}}}

Now,

Let the no of 1 - rupee coins be 'x'

And,

Number of 2 - rupee coin = y

Then,

ᴀᴄᴄᴏʀᴅɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ 1sᴛ ᴄᴏɴᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴ :-

  • x + y = 21. ---(1)

ᴀᴄᴄᴏʀᴅɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ 2nd ᴄᴏɴᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴ

  • x + 2y = 34. ---(2)

On subtracting (1) from (2) , We get,

( x + 2y) - (x + y) = 34 - 21

x - x + 2y - y = 13

y = 13

Put this value of y in (1) , We get,

x + y = 21

x + 13 = 21

x = 21 - 13

x = 8

Hence,.

  • Number of 1-rupee coin = 8

  • Number of 2-rupee coin = 13
