The ovum is released from the Graafian follicle by the process of ovulation under the influence of LH. The Graafian follicle remains in the ovary and forms the corpus luteum. The ovum is then picked up by the fimbriae of the oviducal funnel,  and transferred to the fallopian tube. If fertilisation takes place the newly formed zygote will become a morula and then a blastocyst before implanting in the endometrium of the uterus.
