SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

To Arrange in ascending order

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{3}{2} \: , \:   \frac{1}{4}  \: , \:  \frac{5}{8} }

EVALUATION

Here the given fractions are

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{3}{2} \: , \:   \frac{1}{4}  \: , \:  \frac{5}{8} }

Now the denominators are 2 , 4 , 8

LCM of the denominators = 8

Now

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{3}{2} =  \frac{3 \times 4}{2 \times 4}  =  \frac{12}{8} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{1}{4} =  \frac{1 \times 2}{4 \times 2}  =  \frac{2}{8} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{5}{8} =  \frac{5 \times 1}{8 \times 1}  =  \frac{5}{8} }

From above we can conclude that

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{1}{4}  <  \frac{5}{8} <  \frac{3}{2}  }

Hence the required ascending order is

 \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{1}{4}   \:,  \:  \frac{5}{8}  \:  ,\:  \frac{3}{2}  }
