Answer:

According to aufbau's principle

Electrons are filled from lowest energy state(ground state) of Atom to high energy states (excited states)

series is 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^2, 3p^6, 4s^2, 3d^10.............

Thus energy in order of descending to ascending as follows

F > D > P > S.

Answer:

S> P>d>f

Explanation:

We are given that S,P,D and F orbital.

We have to arrange given orbitals in descending order of their effective nuclear charge.

S-Orbital :It is first orbital which is nearest to nucleus of atom.

Therefore, nuclear charge effect is greatest at S- orbital.

P-Orbital;It is second number orbital Which is after S-orbital in an atom.

Therefore, nuclear charge effect towards P-orbital  is less than the nuclear charge effect on S-orbital.

d-orbital:It comes after p- orbital .

The distance between nucleus and d- orbital is greater  than S and P.

Hence, the nuclear charge effect is less on d- orbital in comparison to S and P-orbital.

f-orbital:It comes after d-orbital.The distance between nucleus and f- orbital is largest.

Therefore, the nuclear charge effect on f- orbital is smallest.

Descending order  is given by

S> P>d>f
