Agriculture practices in a proper sequence with defination

1.Preparation of soil : Preparation of soil is a very important step in agriculture before cultivation of crops. It includes loosening of soil, removing weeds from the soil and leveling of soil before sowing of seeds.

2. Ploughing : A ploughing is a process used for initial cultivation to loosen or turn the soil in preparation for sowing seed or planting.

3. Irrigation : Irrigation is the application of controlled amounts of water to plants at needed intervals.Irrigation helps to growagricultural crops, maintain landscapes, and revegetate disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of less than average rainfall.

4. Manuring : Manure is organic matter used as fertilizer in agriculture. Manuresimprove the fertility of the soil by adding organic matter and lots of nutrients, such as nitrogen that is trapped by bacteria in the soil. Higher organisms then feed on the fungi and bacteria in a chain of life.

5. Harvesting : Harvesting is the process of gathering a ripe crop from the fields. Reaping is the cutting of grain or pulse for harvest, typically using a scythe, sickle, or reaper.

6. Threshing : Threshing is the process of loosening the edible part of grain (or other crop) from the husks and straw to which it is attached.

7. Winnowing : Winnowing is a farming method developed by ancient people for separating grain from chaff. It is also used to remove weevils or other pests from stored grain.

8. Storage :  Storage means the phase of the post-harvest system during which the products are kept in such a way as to guarantee food security other than during periods ofagricultural production.
