Arrange the following in descending order: 1 2/3,2 3/4,3 4/5,4 5/6

 \huge \bigstar \underline \mathfrak \red{AnswEr} :

  • As fractions are in mixed fractions . Firstly we will convert them in Improper fraction.

 \to \: 1 \frac{2}{3}  =  \frac{5}{3}  \\  \to \: 2 \frac{3}{4}  =  \frac{11}{4}   \\  \to3 \frac{4}{5}  =  \frac{19}{5}  \\  \to4  \frac{5}{6}  =  \frac{29}{6}

  • Now the denomiatoes are not in same. so we should convert into like fractions.
  • Lcm = 60

 \to \frac{5 \times 20}{3 \times 20}  ,\frac{11 \times 15}{4 \times 15}  ,\frac{19 \times 12}{5 \times 12} , \frac{29 \times 10}{6 \times 10}  \\

 \to \:  \frac{100, \: 165 ,\: 228, \: 290}{60}  \\

By arranging in descending order,

 \to \: 4 \frac{5}{6}  > 3 \frac{4}{5}  > 2 \frac{3}{4}  > 1 \frac{2}{3} .
