The kinetic energy of particles depends on the intermolecular force which binds these particles together. Intermolecular forces are greatest in solids,therefore l,the particles are tightly packed and cannot move much, therefore exhibiting lowest kinetic energy. In liquids,the forces still exist but are less in comparison to solids. Therefore,movement of particles increases and Kinetic energy also increases. In gases,the forces are almost negligible. Therefore,the particles can freely move in any direction,thus exhibiting maximum Kinetic energy.
