The three isomers of pentane are not pentane, iso pentane and neo pentane.

CH3-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH3 - n pentane

CH3-CH2-CH(CH3)-CH3 iso pentane

CH3-C(CH3)2-CH3 neo pentane

The boiling point of a polymer decreases as branching in the compound increases. The Van der Waals forces of attraction betweenmolecules thus decrease and, therefore, the amount of energy needed is less. Hence, due to branching the boiling point decreases

Increasing order of boiling point is as given

neopentane < isopentane < n-pentane
