Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

Explain the paragraph from the psalm of life(IMPORTANT IS THE LAST 2 LINE)

the meaning of the above stanzas:

art is permanent. but our life time is very short. so we must achieve something great within this short period of time.
our heart beats , which are steady , remind us about the funeral marches which are being beaten by muffled drums.

the theme of the poem:
the poet H.W.Longfellow asks the readers not to get dejected by failures but to have a heart for any fate!!. work without looking for the result, but to wait for the eternal reward
