When we inhale, we breathe oxygen with other gases. This reaches the nose pipe via Trachea. The lungs dissolve this in blood and it becomes oxygenated blood. It send it to the heart. The Left Atrium receives this blood and send it to the Left Ventricle. The left ventricles pump this blood and sends it to all parts of the body via Arteries. Blood flows at a rapid speed and pressure. So Arteries have thick elastic walls.
