Arteries are deep seated to prevent them from damage. even a minor damage in arteries may result in the loss of lots of blood due to high pressure of blood in arteries. arteries carry oxygen rich blood and loss of oxygenated blood can prove detrimental to our body. while veins are located superficially as the pressure inside them is very low and it contains de-oxygenated blood.
