cos artery have to supply oxygenated blood to all the part of the body so they have the supply the blood with more precious than the deoxygenated blood in veins
that's why are tree are thick walled whereas veins are thin walled.

Arteries have thick walls because they have to take oxygenated blood throughout the body whereas veins have to carry deoxygenated blood towards the heart ,pressure in arteries is more than in veins.
