Arteries carry oxygenated blood away from the heart to the tissues, except for pulmonary arteries, which carry blood to the lungs for oxygenation (usually veins carry deoxygenatedblood to the heart but the pulmonaryveins carry oxygenated blood as well

In our circulatory system the artery carries oxygenated blood to different parts of our body from our heart accept the Pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood from heart to lungs. And veins generally carry deoxygenated blood from different parts of our body to the heart except Pulmonary vein which carries oxygenated blood from lungs to heart.
