Arteries have thick elastic walls. Why?

Arteries have thick elasti wall because,from heart blood emerge very high pressure so due to repture of arteries,have thick.....

Since the arteries carry blood from the heart to the body cells , they have a high pressure due to which they have thick and elastic walls and are situated deep inside the body and are not easily seen
