In arteries the flow of blood is very fast so they do not need valves. Whereas, veins have slow blood flow so valves are required to ensure the flow of blood in one direction.

artery dont have valve because artery collect blood from heart to the body so the blood comming from the heart is having very high pressure soartery don't need and valve but in vein the blood pressure is very low so they need valve to prevent back flow of the blood.
