BEFORE

Dear diary,

Today, our prayers have finally been answered! We are finally getting what we have always wished for. Arthur received a call from social services, and his request to adopt me has been approved. So, tomorrow, I’m moving to his place! I can’t wait to meet his other kids, and bond well with them.

My abandonment issues, of course, have to be tackled. But we’re working on it, aren’t we? I did sign up for this adoption, and can’t wait to get to the best part, after going through so much. Anyway tomorrow’s a long day, and my anxiety is shooting through the roof. I’m finding it difficult to fall asleep, but I should go to sleep soon. So, I’ll update you tomorrow!

Good night!

Ginny.

AFTER

Dear diary,

Today was a long, fun day. Filled with new experiences. Since Arthur registered me with the new branch of social services, it was a first. Their approach was completely different, and so were the parental candidates. This set seemed a lot more friendly, and brought their kids along, too.

I had fun playing with the kids, but I'm not too sure they want to adopt me, since I seem to be a little too old for their liking. From their talks, I figured that they wanted someone who'd have 'little to no memory of the adoption', since they weren't planning on having "the talk" anytime soon.

Anyway, I can't wait for the good news, and I'm genuinely done waiting.

Will keep you posted.

Love,

Ginny.
