The article 370 of Indian Constitution deals with the special status for Jammu and Kashmir.

Why only Jammu and Kashmir :

>> Jammu and Kashmir merged in Indian on 26th October, 1947.

>> This is because during the British India, Jammu and Kashmir was ruled by Maharaja Hari Singh.

>> As, we know the last viceroy of India Mountbatten gave three options to princely states that either they can merge in India or Pakistan or they can be independent.

>> Hari Singh agreed to be Independent. But the violence started. As, riots from Pakistan attacked Jammu and Kashmir

>> Then Abdullah of Jammu and Kashmir came and asked Nehru to help them.

>> Nehru asked Abdullah to merge with India then Abdullah with some conditions merged with India. That condition is article 370.

Article 370 :

>> Article 370 provides a special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

>> Under this article Jammu and Kashmir has its own Constitution.

>> Jammu and Kashmir has its own national anthem and national flag.

>> Indian union does not interfere in the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir etc.

>> Jammu and Kashmir enjoys it's autonomy with some limitations due to this article.
