Cruelty to animals, also called animal abuse, animal neglect or animal cruelty, is the infliction by omission (animal neglect) or by commission by humans of suffering or harmupon any non-human animal, regardless of whether the act is against the law. More narrowly, it can be the causing of harm or suffering for specific achievement, such as killing animals for food or for their fur; opinions differ about the extent of cruelty associated with a given method of slaughter. Cruelty to animals sometimes encompasses inflicting harm or suffering as an end in itself, define as zoosadism.

Divergent approaches to laws concerning animal cruelty occur in different jurisdictions throughout the world. For example, some laws govern methods of killing animals for food, clothing, or other products, and other laws concern the keeping of animals for entertainment, education, research, or pets. There are a number of conceptual approaches to the issue of cruelty to animals.

Explanation:

                                   Cruelty Towards Animals

Sadly, various animals are exploited cruelly. This scene is there on the roads before the common people and those belonging to the govt. agencies. These agencies protect the animals in the right spirit but on paper only.

This cruelty towards animals is due to various reasons. For instance, 35% of the people have an indifferent attitude towards animal cruelty. 15% believe that animals are man's slaves. 50% believe that animals are exploited for selfish interests. But it is a hard fact that animals are treated cruelly. We see them being beaten when they can't pull Quintilian of load. Then they are boiled alive for medicinal purposes.

Animals are our friends, helpers and necessary for survival. They maintain the ecological balance of nature. For instance, peacocks kill the snakes. Snakes kill the rats. Rats destroy the crops. This natural web of life is fundamental to human survival. Beating the animals on the roads shows our apathy towards them. There is the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). We should report to it if we see cruelty to them. A serious view should be taken by the govt. officials. They must work for animals' interests. We should know that animals are like us–living beings and feel pain and pleasure like us.
