yes i really feel that absentism is a major threat to the quality of education.first of all lets look for the clear meaning of absentism- absentism is to be absent or showing a lack of concentration. most of the students though being physically present they are mentally absent. the reasons can be as follows- 
1. if  the studies are not appearing interesting to u
2. if u are in a sleep mode for late rising at night.
3. facebook , whats app etc social networking sites can be the reason 
. absenties also mean mentally and physically absent.
soetimes whenever we are sick or due to any family matter we remain absent for few which never the less affect our studies.  our lessons which have been taught are missed. the notes which are given by our teachers are missed. there becomes a burden of studies on us. especially we face these problems when we are in higher classes
