Ayurveda is the panacea to ailments. Ayurveda, means the science of life (Ayur = Life, Veda = Science). It is an ancient medical science which was developed in India thousands of years ago.

It is a system of medicine which has historical roots in India. It is believed that medical knowledge was imparted by God Dhanvantari who incarnated as Divodasa, a mythical king of Varanasi. He taught medicine to a group of wise physicians.

Nowadays modernized practices derived from Ayurveda traditions are used as alternative medicine. In the Western world the Ayurveda therapies and practices have been integrated in general wellness applications.

Ayurveda therapies are based on complex herbal compounds. Ayurveda treatises taught surgical techniques, including rhinoplasty, perineal lithotomy, the suturing of wounds and the extraction of foreign objects.
