Biswanath Ghat of Assam is one of the famous tourist place of Assam. This ghat is located about 80km from Tezpur town. The famous Biswanath temple is also known as Gupta Kashi. This Gupta Kashi is located at the junction of Bridhaganga river which is commonly known as Burigonga and Brahmaputra river. There are many different gods are also there on the cluster of this Biswanath Ghat. There are also many stone posts and also beams are found there. So it is believed that once upon there was a stone temple was there. This temple remains under water in the rainy days. So the devotees got only one chance in the winter worship the god. So there also construct many temporary sheds for the tourists coming from various states and countries. On the 3rd day of the festival the Assamese Bihu festival is also celebrated there which is one of the famous festival of Assam. There is also a island is present nearer this Biswanath Ghat which is known as island of Umatumuni. This island is also one of the famous place of Assam. If you ever come to Assam never forget to see these wonderful places of Assam.
There are many lodges are also available for staying in Biswanath Ghat of Assam. There are two govt. lodges are also available there. The lodges are: Govt. Circuit House and Tourist Lodge. Besides these two lodges there are al;so some hotels are present nearer the Biswanath Ghat of Assam. There is also a tourist lodge near the Biswanath Ghat is now under construction. So there is no problem for staying in Biswanath Ghat of Assam.
There are tourist taxies are available in Biswanath town to come to Biswanath Ghat of Assam. You can easily come to the Biswanath town because it is situated in Tezpur and as tezpur is a big city of Assam it is connected with different places of Assam. And from there you can reach Biswanath Ghat of Assam by the tourist taxis of by hiring a taxi.
