The colour of the region of potato around the wire that is connected to the positive terminal of the battery is - Bluish green.
This is because the electrons from the negative terminal of
the battery move inside the potato as the electrolysis occurs at the copper
wire that is inside the potato. This electrolysis is conducted by the presence
of starch in the potato which produces more electrons

Material required: battery,wire, iron nails, potato . Procedure: 1.cut a potato into two halves. 2. Take one piece of cut potato & insert two iron nails into it. 3. connect the two terminal of a battery to the two iron nails . 4.Iron nail which is connected to the +ve terminal of the battery shows greenish blue spot. 5.The other nail which is connected to the -ve terminal of the battery does not show any colour.
RESULT: Thus the electric current produces a chemical effect in potato leading to a change in its colour.
