Suddenly, the Internet happened and it changed everything, including childhood. Whether this change was for the better or for worse depends on how you look at it.
This is the first generation that cannot imagine life without the Internet and the various devices that connect us to it, and to one another, by extension. Our electronic gadgets have become extensions of our bodies, like crutches. On the other hand, you might also say that these powerful tools give us wings. Some people believe that the Internet and its various social networking options affect us negatively while others beg to differ, and parents who cling to their pre-Internet way of life are scrambling to make sure they have the right answers to guide their kids. Students today have begun to rely on the accessibility of information that is available on the social media platforms specifically as well as the web in general in order to get answers. This means that there is a reduced focus on learning as well as on retaining information.

Hello AksNema!
The arrival of Internet is a boon as well as bane in our lives. Since we were introduced to the digital-world our joys and sorrows are epicentred on the very gadgets that we possess...The internet has affected the youth and adults alike. But the young teens have not been able to resist the temptations of using the internet. Almost every fortunate human on this earth was born with a mobile phone in his/her hand!! The world-market has been crowded with the increasing demands of smartphones, tabs, laptops etc.
Unfortunately, we are allowing ourselves to be taken away ruthlessly by the digital world...We forget our reality and tend to live in a virtual world altogether. When we go to visit new places, people are more focused on clicking selfies and capturing the natural beauty in their cameras. But rarely do we feel the nature's beauty,,,We belong to that of the modern world marked by the arrival of the digital era. We feel that we are tecnosavvy!!
Yet we fail to realise how harful the digital world has turned out to be. Children are hooked on to the digital media and often come across things which are far beyond their ages...Cyber crimes are on the rise , vital information is often hacked away by the hackers...
So it is time that we control these devices and not let ourselves be monitored by it............

A good answer but not complete. Actually I had also added ' prone to many diseases ' this part is missing. Diseases like obesity, not going outside, always attached to TVs , mobiles , and many bad habits. Thanks for this good answer
