corruption is an issue that adversely affect India's economy of central, State and local government agencies. not only has it held the economy back from reaching new heights, but rampant corruption has stunted the country's development. a study conducted by transparency international in 2005 recorded that more than 62% of Indians had at some point or another paid a bribe to a public office to get a job done.

Corruption in Indian society has prevailed from time immemorial. The existence of corruption in our country is a result of connection between the politicians and criminals. Bribes are paid to make things done at right time. Politician corruption is worst in India. Among 177 countries, India stands at 86th level in corruption level. One of the main reason for the existence of corruption in India is that people fear to raise their voice against the anti-social elements prevailing in the society.

Example- Voters are threatened to vote for a particular party. The most corrupted section in our country is government officials and politicians, where most of the black money is found.

Steps that can eradicate corruption are- :

People should be honest to themselves. They should be true to their work and position. Big people should not misuse their power, position and fame. We all should raise our voices against these anti-social elements in our society. High level should be clean and honest. The. punishment for corruption should be strict and harsh so that it sets example for others. Government should intervene in this case and set new rules against this issue.
