Evelyn Glennie who overcame her hearing disability and became  virtuoso (a person highly skilled in music or another artistic  pursuit) multi-percussionist, performing internationally with a  wide variety of orchestras and contemporary musicians.

Evelyn’s loss of hearing has been gradual. Evelyn believes that if you work hard and know   where you are going you will get there. Evelyn is a sought after percussionist with a mastery  of thousand instruments. In 1991 she was presented with the Royal  Philharmonic Society’s prestigious Soloist of the year  award.
