gender equlity is not considered much in india.today also people give more preference to boy child and they kill girl child.they think that girls are burden on family and boys will earn and will never live their home..

but today girls are also taking place in higher education and getting succes.its time to give both girls and boys equal value.

the way each society perceives what a 'man' is and what a 'woman' is and what their different roles and responsibilities are is gender.gender is more than the biological difference between men and women. gender is how people see themselves and how society sees them.it is largely culturally determinedand has no biological explanatiom.each culture or society defines gender differently.m9st women in the west hv a lot more freedom to lead their lives the way they want to than do wonen in the east.women are seen as being fit for only certain types of roles,such as cooking,taking care of home and being a mother and a wife. men are seen as the providers of food and shelter and the protectors. people who do not stay within the boundaries of these set roles are questioned and discriminated against by society. while gender discrimination affects women the most,men are often troubled by it because it often prevents them from choosing dance,nursing,dress designing,etc.,as professions. in indian families, boys are pardoned the most mischievous of antics on the grounds that "boys will be boys". it is expected that they will be troublesome and naughty. girls are expected to be more submissive and obedient. traditionally educating women was thought to be unnecessary and a waste of money as itcwas assumed that they should be raking care of the house and not going out to work.the average literary rate for women is 37% against 64% for men.
to hv gender inequality's impact better felt,women must hv influence in the household, in the workplace and in the political sphere. today things are changing slowly but surely.
