article on generation gap-the need to bridge it
Answers
The two sisters in Alice Walker's 'Everyday Use,' Maggie and Dee, have very different relationships with their mother. Maggie, who still lives at home, respects her mother and carries on the traditions of the family. For instance, she knows how to quilt, and she also knows the stories behind the fabrics in the family's heirloom quilts.
So Maggie is the exception to the generation gap so often represented in literature. Dee, on the other hand, seems its archetype. She is enamored of her new-found cultural identity and convinced that her understanding of her heritage is superior to and more sophisticated than her mother's. She treats her mother's (and sister's) life like an exhibit in a museum, one better understood by the astute curator than by the participants themselves.
The generation gap is the constant struggle of the parents to prevent their kids from doing things that their own experiences and wisdom tell them is going to harm their kids. The kids on the other hand try constantly to prove to the parents that they are equipped to take control of their lives. They want to live a challenging life and do not shy away from aspiring high. This attitude is completely opposite to their parents who want their children to live a simple and comfortable life. Neither is wrong – they are both right in their own premise. The parents blinded by their love for the kids would rather have their own experiences replace the experiences of their kids.
1.Generation gap is nothing but a difference in the way of thinking. If people start to believe in their family, this gap will itself diminish. So take a step forward and try to bridge this widening gap.
2.People should know that respect is a two way process. If someone wants respect, one has to show respect too. People should never hesitate to learn the same thing from different perspective.
3. Much time should be spent together. Family decision should be made after consulting from every member of the family, with this no member will feel left out. Children should be consulted from their early age as it would help them to build self-confidence.
4.Lots of communication with commitment is required. Communication between different generations is imperative as it helps in resolving issues, understanding one another’s feeling and maintaining faith.

With the help of this speech, I would try to let you know about one of the issue nowadays .
Generation gap is a gapping between the current generation childrens and their parents or grandparents. There are conflicts in their thinking. The thinking is totally different from each other and that's what something which makes a difference.
Generation gap can be sometime bad for the two people living in the same house. There views won't match which will cause problems. The thing which will be right to one generation will be totally wrong for the other one.
This thing somewhat affects the relationship between them. So we should atleast try to make things better for the two generation and try to solve the problems. They should try to understand each other and respect each other's thinking.
