India is one of the most prominent users of solar power in the world. A number of factors prevalent in Indian weather conditions contribute to make solar power generation a viable alternative to fossil fuel based energy. The country is strategically located near to Tropic of Cancer which receives maximum solar light and heat. Indian weather is broadly divided into summer, winter, autumn and spring and some of the areas of this country are such that they are never devoid of solar energy. Thus, solar power company Ray Power Infra find their abode in such areas of India and are actively involved in generating large amount of power for meeting the energy needs of the establishments.

Statistics reveal that the power requirement in India is way lower than what is delivered from the solar energy. Sun, as a source of energy, can produce about 1, 73,000 TW of power which is sufficient to meet the current global demand of 15TW. Looking at the enormous capacity of Sun, various solar energy companies have proposed setting up of power generation modules. Geographically speaking, Thar Desert area, Telangana region in Hyderabad and Delhi region are some of the areas that are always exposed to scorching heat of the sun, and thus, can serve as viable location for setting up power plant based on solar energy.

Another factor contributing to the viability of solar power as source of energy is the topography of this country. India has enormous land which is inhabited, open and is almost burning due to continual exposure to sun. Around 35000 sq km of area in Thar Desert is earmarked as suitable site for setting up the solar energy plant and various companies are bidding to become the part of this mammoth project. Commercial spaces have wide, open roofs; they also have huge parking spaces set in open area. Installation of solar power plants is quite easier in such locations.

Looking at the threat looming over depleting non-renewable energy resources, the Government of India is taking cognitive measures to ensure that the focus should actively be shifted to renewable sources of energy. The scientists working day in and day out to make the country prepared for harnessing the solar power on a large scale. Government is ready to issue licenses to solar power generation set-ups and is providing lots of subsidies to promote the cause.

Thus, India is surely going to be the hub of solar power generation in coming times as the conditions are quite suitable strategically, geographically and politically speaking, for such futuristic projects.
