Hazards on Polythene Bags

-ABC

Plastic the wonder material of the 20th century has invaded every aspect of our lives. These plastic bags are lightweight, flexibility and cheap because of which they are used and cast off freely.  Its use is so widespread that it is a wonder as to how people can manage to do anything without it. Plastic bags are used almost everywhere. The grocer packs most of the food clean transparent plastic bags. Other items like clothes, toys and magazines are all pre-packed in plastic bags before being sold. The milk and bread men pack their goods in plastic bags.

Though Plastic bags are really helpful they are more harmful at the same time. Plastic is  non-biodegradable material and do not decay by biological actions of microbes.  To destroy plastics, we can either recycle or burn them. If we burn plastic, they emit harmful chemical gases and these gases pollute our environment. The wastes of plastic block pipes and sanitary lines so that dirty water came out on roads. This cause fear of malaria, cholera and other diseases. In the fields the accumulation of  plastic bags prevent the sunlight from entering the soil thus destroying the beneficial bacteria, so necessary for soil fertility

For our coming generations which will live in the very same digital world in which are living but the only difference is that they will  receive oxygen from cylinders and we are receiving it naturally. For this not to happen reduce use of plastic wherever possible, to use recyclable bags and thing, not to throw used plastic here and there and to collect the used plastic by the Government and then to recycle them.
