illiteracy in India is a very serious problem , which will even affect the development of our country. our literacy rate has increased massively when compared to those at the time of independence , but it is not a cent percent improvement when compared to the population rate.

while India is still struggling to eradicate iliteracy it is heartening to note that our literacy rate has gone up 25 % in 1951 to 64.8 per cent in 2001. nothing is important that education because an educated and literate person can manage things more precisely . our society must understand this fact. many tribes and illiterate society restrict girls to learn reading writing , such society are actually a scourge for the whole nation.

there also some social work societies who are working for adult education and they are trying to educate people from different age groups . we are also responsible for play our part to lighten the candle of education.
